We did it! We passed the benchmark of over 10,000 listeners to the Central Park Women's Rights Pioneers Monument "Talking Statues." Created to educate the public about Sojourner Truth, Susan B. Anthony, Elizabeth Cady Stanton and our women's history monument, help us keep the momentum going. Visit Central Park, aim your phone camera at the QR code on the Monument sign and listen away! To learn more about our Talking Statue go to our website at https://monumentalwomen.org/the-unveiling#talkingstatues Follow and support us as we work on more projects to recognize women and people of color in our public spaces.

How are you remembering our vets this Memorial Day? Join the Military Women's Memorial this Memorial Day for a special ceremony. The Women’s Memorial 24th annu...al Memorial Day ceremony will be held at 4 p.m., May 31, 2021. The ceremony, one of the major Memorial Day programs in the nation’s capital, is free and open to the public. In addition to formal military honors and a keynote address, the program will include remarks from past and present military women representing each of the six services; and the Memorial’s signature event, the scattering of rose petals in tribute to departed comrades. Also at the Memorial for Memorial Day commemorative activities is a special exhibit that pays tribute to the women who have served in Afghanistan and Iraq. A New Generation of Warriors speaks to the wartime experiences of these women through the memorabilia of 101st Airborne Division soldier CPL Jessica Ellis, who was killed in action on Mother’s Day, May 11, 2008, in Baghdad, Iraq. Please join us on this important day. Reserve your tickets here: https://womensmemorial.org/index.p//memorial-day-ceremony/ #SheServed #HERStory #HerMemorial

Monumental Women is getting close to reaching the 10,000 number -- of people who have listened to our Talking Statues app for the Central Park Women's Rights Pioneers Monument. And that has happened without the thousands of tourists normally in the Park. Help us reach 10,000! Go to the Park, aim your phone camera at the QR code on the Monument sign and listen away! TIME asked historians and experts on Asian American history nationwide to pick one milestone from this history that they believe should be taught in K-12 schools, and to explain how it provides context for where America is today.
