Broadway and theatrical credits include: West Side Story (2009 revival) and 1st Nat’l Tour, An American in Paris 1st Nat’l Tour and International Broadway Revival, An American in Paris at Le Theatre De Châtelét Paris, Disney’s Aladdin Broadway and 1st Nat’l Tour, Disney’s When you Wish (Shang), Sister Act (Pablo), Susan Stroma...n’s Merry Widow (MET OPERA), Aida (MET OPERA), The Light in the Piazza (Fabrizio), Broadway Bound Can Can (Valentín Le Desossé). Ballet Companies: Ballet Austin, Ballet Memphis, Ballet Trockadero, Ballet NY, Ballet Verité, Roxey Ballet, Neglia Ballet Artists (Guest Artist), Neos Dance Thêatre (Guest Artist). Guest Artist Roles include: Sugar Plum Cavalier, Prince Albrecht (Giselle), Romeo and Mercurio (Romeo and Juliet), Dracula (Based on Bram Stoker’s Dracula), Zeigfried (Swan Lake) Balanchine’s Agon. Join one of our newest company members @clairevanbever as she takes over our Instagram story tomorrow! We can’t wait! #1 @chrispedd #2 @dagphotog ... Claire van Bever is a New York based performer and teacher. Originally from Portland, OR she trained at the School of Oregon Ballet Theatre, The Rock School for Dance Education and the SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Dance. Claire started her career with American Repertory Ballet where she had the privilege of performing at City Center and Jacob’s Pillow, and dancing the works of Kirk Peterson, Patrick Corbin and Gerald Arpino. After moving to New York, Claire graduated summa cum laude from The New School with a BA in Liberal Arts and began freelancing in New York. She has worked with Jillian Peña, Robert Longbottom, Alice Gosti, and Neglia Ballet. She has had the honor of appearing on the World Tour of the Phantom of the Opera and is now thrilled to join MorDance.

David Hochberg is from New York, where he trained at Studio Maestro/Manhattan Youth Ballet under Francois Perron, Nadege Hottier, and Ellison Ballet under Edward Ellison. In 2012 David joined Sarasota Ballet under director Iain Webb. He then joined Nevada Ballet Theater in 2014, where he danced for five seasons under James Canfield and Roy Kaiser. Since returning to New York in 2019 he has worked as a freelance dancer for Movement Headquarters, The Chase Brock Experience, Guggenheim Works & Process, Graham Lustig at The Princeton Festival, XAOC Ballet, and Margo Sappington.

She most recently concluded her two-year contract with the world tour of The Phantom of the Opera.... Following her early training at Tatewaki Hiroko Ballet School in Ehime, Japan, she graduated from Northern Ballet School in England as well as SUNY Purchase, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a President Award for Achievement in the Conservatory of Dance. She was selected to study abroad at Codarts in the Netherlands and Springboard Danse Montréal as well. She was a recipient of the Regional Cultural Award from the Ehime Cultural Association in 2017. Ayaka has danced with many companies including The Metropolitan Opera, MorDance, New York Theatre Ballet, AZOTH Dance Theatre and Ayalis In Motion. She has performed works by choreographers such as Balanchine, Cunningham, Tudor, Roy Assaf, Aszure Barton, Dario Dinuzzi, John Heginbotham, Jessica Lang, Austin McCormick, Keith Michael, David Needham, Matthew Neenan, Alexei Ratmansky, Taryn Kaschock Russell and Bettijane Sills, among others. Ayaka danced with MorDance in 2018, and she is thrilled to be back with the company again for her second season! See more

Tune in to get to know Amy better and take a peak into our rehearsal day! @amyjsaunder Amy Saunder (she/her) is a Brooklyn-based dancer, choreographer, and videographer who was born and raised in Harare, Zimbabwe. She studied classical ballet at Baltimore School for the Arts and at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts under the tutelage of Ethan Stiefel. Amy began her professional career wi...th The Suzanne Farrell Ballet, where she performed at The Kennedy Center in numerous George Balanchine works such as Valse Fantaisie, Slaughter on Tenth Avenue, Dances Concertantes, Divertimento no. 15, and Episodes. In 2014 she moved to New York City and since then she has freelanced with companies such as BalletNext, Indelible Dance, Traverse City Dance Project, MorDance, Movement Headquarters, Gleich Dances, Aspen Santa Fe Ballet, and Ballet Vero Beach, and has performed in the works of Brendan Fernandes in The Whitney Museum of American Art and The Noguchi Museum. In 2016, alongside Tiffany Mangulabnan and Jordan Miller, Amy co-created konverjdans (con-verge-dance), a contemporary dance company focused on collaborative creation. See more

We are thrilled to announce that MorDance has been approved for a $10,000 Challenge America award to support our 2022 season of outreach programing with underserved youth. This project will provide students with access to the art form of ballet through in school workshops and performances as well as our annual student performance. MorDance’s work is among 168 projects across America totaling $1,680,000 that were selected to receive fiscal year 2022 funding in the Challenge Am...erica grant category. The National Endowment for the Arts is proud to support arts projects like this one from MorDance that help support the community’s creative economy, said NEA Acting Chair Ann Eilers. MorDance in New York City is among the organizations nationwide that are using the arts as a source of strength, a path to well-being, and providing access and opportunity for people to connect and find joy through the arts.
