IMPORTANT MPP UPDATE! Auditions: MPP auditions will take place during the first week of classes, via Zoom. Please visit the MPP audition page for more information. Calendar: As you may already know, Columbia and MPP will be operating in three semesters. Please see the academic calendar here. We will be sending out a questionnaire later on to associates interested in teaching during Summer 2021. ... Wind/brass/vocal instruction: In order to assure everyone's safety, all wind and brass instruments (including Columbia University Orchestra), as well as vocal students will have to meet online only for the time being. We will monitor the situation closely, and once it becomes safe to return to campus for wind instrument/vocal instruction, we will provide an update. Practice rooms: As the safety of various campus spaces is being assessed, we are waiting for an update regarding the availability of practice rooms on campus - please stay tuned. Classroom pianos: To ensure safe use of the pianos in Dodge Hall classrooms, appropriate cleaning products have been ordered. Safe ensemble size: In order to comply with the safety measures, ensembles wishing to meet in person will be limited to 3 students and the instructor. Please plan your repertoire accordingly. Only strings and piano will be allowed to meet in person for now. Campus access: At the moment, only essential employees are allowed on campus. Those who wish to come to campus, aside from wearing a mask, will need to complete a symptom check through the CU Reopen App.
