From April 30-May 6 the SBA promotes National Small Business Week. This period of time has been recognized by the President since 1963 to recognize and promote the valuable contributions small business make towards our culture and our economy. It is a week to highlight and admire the sacrifices and dedication entrepreneurs and small business owners put into their livelihood. Small businesses are a surprisingly large portion of the U.S. economy, More than half of Americans either own or work for a small business, and they create about two out of every three new jobs in the U.S. each year (SBA).
