Mumford Fire District

May started as a slow month at MFD, but we ended it with a busy last week. In the last 7 days we have responded to a drowning, a nuisance fire, a fire alarm, 2 MVA’s, an EMS response, and a structure fire. Your MFD is here to help day and night, neighbors helping neighbors.

Let’s all take time this Memorial Day weekend to remember the reasons for this holiday. The MFD is proud to be the care taker of the Hickey-O’Donnell-Yahn VFW memorial wall. This is just a reminder of the local folks who have sacrificed so much to maintain our freedom.

Engine 4712 initially was sent to stand-by at Churchville FD and then responded to the scene. Tanker 4717 responded also responded as this is a non-hydrant area.

Busy night. MFD responded to a reported structure fire in Caledonia about 10 pm. Just about midnight, Mumford FD and CHS Ambulance went for a rollover MVA with a person trapped. Scottsville and Caledonia FD automatically responded.

Chicken and ribs are gone. Thanks and see you all at the fall BBQ.

Town of Wheatland, County of Monroe Road Closure: County Road 174, Wheatland Center Road, is completely closed because of a large sink hole. From NY 383 to Ebsary Rd. until further notice.

Tonight, Mumford Engine 4712 took another trip to the Golisano Children’s Hospital for Good Night Lights
