Bruce Finch After 39 years, he's calling it quits! He's worked in just about every department here at one point or another, met a ton of people over the years and fixed hundreds of tools (among other things). As of tomorrow (Friday) at 12:30, Bruce is off to long, lazy days on the beach, no doubt with a cocktail in his hand! Stop in to say goodbye and wish him well - and have a piece of cake! Everyone at Munson's wishes you well and loads of happiness in the next chapter of your life, Bruce. Cheers!

As a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, we are reducing our store hours. Beginning this Saturday, April 4th, Saturday hours will be 8-1 and Monday through Friday hours will be 7:30-4:30 until further notice. Again, we are strongly encouraging you to call your orders in whenever possible and we will bring your orders to your car. While you are still welcome to come into the store, please observe the social distancing rules for your safety as well as ours. Please, everyone, continue to stay safe and well. We WILL get through this together!

As we continue to deal with Covid-19, we are still open regular hours. While we understand that it's not always feasible to call in your orders and let us pick them for you, we are strongly suggesting that you do whenever you can. Just call in your order, we'll pick it for you and call you when it's ready for pickup. Call us again when you get here and we'll bring it out for you. We can either take your credit card payment by phone or you can pay by cash or check when we bring your order out. Please, folks, stay safe, stay home and stay well! We want to see you ALL again when this is over!

As a hardware store, we have been deemed essential during the Covid-19 pandemic. We will remain open with regular hours as long as we can to serve you. As of now, you are still welcome to come into the store and shop. However, out of consideration for our customers' and employees' well being during this time of uncertainty, we would like to offer curbside pickup for your in-store and small lumber orders. Call in your order, pay over the phone and we'll call you when it's ready for pick up. When you come to pick it up, call us to let us know you're here and we'll bring it out for you. We hope this will all soon be behind us but, until then, please everyone continue to be socially responsible and stay healthy!

A little late posting this, but Spot and Lady are hanging out here with us until around noon today. They're a super-sweet, bonded pair, 10 years old. Look who came to visit us today!! Our friends at Susquehanna SPCA brought Marcus, Smokey and Ludwig!! Ludwig is a 1 year old Shephard mix from Beirut. He is very sweet and well behaved and he's good with other dogs and kids, but we aren't sure about cats. He may have separation anxiety, but he's soooo lovable!! Marcus is an 8 year old Shih Tzu. He's very gentle and sweet and a complete love bug! He's good with dogs, cats and kids! He has a skin condition, but it's not c...ontagious Smokey is a 3 year old male kitty that loves to be cuddled! He's very laid back and doesn't mind other cats or dogs one bit! Smokey needs to be on a special diet for urinary tract health. Stop by to visit these adorable little guys and show them some love!! They'll be here until 2:00 today!!

We lost a very special man yesterday. Fred Munson (along with his wife, Audrey) was the founder of Munson's Building Supplies. He was a very loved family man and member of our community. Anyone who knew Fred knew how hard he worked all his life. Even in his retirement years, it was a rare day if Fred didn't come to the lumberyard to saw up some dunnage lumber so that someone might be able to use it. When he wasn't doing that, he'd be here having a cup of coffee and chatting with customers. He loved this business that he built. He was proud of his family for carrying on with it and building it up to what it is today. This place won't be the same without him, but his spirit will live on here in our hearts and memories. If you have a special memory of Fred, please feel free to share it here for everyone to see.

We are so thankful to be a part of this great community! Wishing all our friends and family the Happiest of Thanksgivings!

On June 10, Fred Munson took part in the Leatherstocking Honor Flight. He was accompanied by his son, Steve. Fred served in the Army at Batangas Bay in the Phillipines. Steve served in the Air Force. The Leatherstocking Honor Flight honors WWII and Korean War Veterans by flying them to Washington DC to experience their memorials. It has been brought to our attention that a couple of our customers have received phone calls with the caller ID showing our phone number, but once they answered, realized it obviously wasn't us calling. We don't know the nature of the calls, but please, if you receive one of these calls or if you just aren't sure, hang up and call us to let us know...ask for the rental desk. Don't give any information unless you are certain of who you are speaking to. Scammers are getting bolder and more savvy. We all need too be aware and cautious.

We're very happy and relieved to say that we are open for business today! Things could've gone much, much worse. A big thanks to all our friends and customers for the kind words and support. A huge thank you to Joe Camarata of Unique Builders for stopping by and helping to put everything back together, Steve MacClintock for coming at a moment's notice and taking care of our electrical issues and Jeff Back of Fyr Fyter for getting our security system back on track! And, of course, a huge, HUGE thank you to all the fire crews who came to our aid: Oneonta, West Oneonta, Pindars Corners, Milford, and Otego. Please know that each and every one of you are truly, truly appreciated!
