Music for Montauk presents the online premiere of QUARTET FOR THE END OF TIME tomorrow January 15th at 8pm. Live links will be available tomorrow. FREE EVENT Filmed and recorded at the Edward Albee Foundation Barn and Camp Hero this revelatory work was composed by Oliver Messiaen in 1940 under the harsh conditions of a prisoner-of-war camp during WW11.
Music for Montauk is creating a special project of Oliver Messiaen's "Quartet for the End of Time set at various locations around Camp Hero. Messiaen composed his revelatory work while interned as a prisoner of war during WWII. The worm premiered Jan 15th, 1941 at Stalag VIII-A in Silesia. Music for Montauk’s featured musicians for this project are Annaliesa Place, violin, cellist Ani Kalayjian, Benjamin Fingland on Clarinet and pianist Miloš Repicky.
