Mohawk Valley Strings community orchestra is doing a zoom session over the next 2 to 3 weeks focusing on this piece. If you’d like to join us in our play along please message with your email address. If you have Suzuki book four or five you can play along with us with the arrangements in those books. I also thanks to Joan Batson have an orchestral arrangement that I can share. So excited to welcome Jack Smith to the studio. He is now accepting students on Thursdays. Jack Smith's musical path began at the age of 5 when he started studying piano. At age 9, along with piano, he began to study percussion/drums. Throughout his school career, Jack studied privately with Corey Colmey (drumset), Jennifer Vacanti (Classical Percussion) and Jimmy Johns (Jazz Vibraphone). Following high school, Jack continued his studies at SUNY Potsdam’s Crane School of Mus...ic. While attending Crane, Jack was a part of the Giroux Honors Jazz Quartet, Crane Latin Ensemble and the award winning Avalon Percussion Quartet. He has been a part of many local bands in the Central New York area including Fish Creek Rodeo, Mike Bogan Funk Band, Jimmy Wolf Band, Master Thieves, Homely Jones, and Vagabond Station. Jack has continued to hone his skills by studying with Geoff Clapp (Ellis Marsalis, Terence Blanchard), Carl Allen (Freddie Hubbard, Benny Green), Ricky Sebastian (Jaco Pastorious), and Keita Ogawa (Snarky Puppy, Charlie Hunter).
