Bubbles, bubbles everywhere! Everyone loves them! And now that the weather is warming up, we are starting to enjoy outdoor activities- which means, there are only more bubbles to be had! Today, I have set up an awesome, easy, fun, and simple activity here at my Experimentation Station! We are going to make Bubble Prints on paper! Bubble Print is super cool looking, and you can turn the bubble print paper into neat things, like cards, drawings, and more! The best part about bubble printing, is that it’s so much fun to make! Most kids I know really love blowing bubbles in their drinks- and now we can do it on purpose, as an activity! There's a time and place for everything! ha ha! After the excitement, we settle in to read about a different kind of bubble- Bubble GUM! And what to do if it gets stuck in your hair!

This Storytime is brought to you in honor of the late, great children's book author, Eric Carle. Mr. Carle departed from us this past Sunday at the age of 91. He was the author and illustrator of over 70 children's books! The most famous, of course, being "The Very Hungry Caterpillar". "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" celebrated its 50th birthday in 2019 and has been translated into almost 70 languages world-wide! When asked about the message it sends to his dedicated, small... readers, he replied: It took me a long time, but I think it is a book of hope, he said. Children need hope. You little insignificant caterpillar can grow up into a beautiful butterfly and fly into the world with your talent, Today, we tell this 52-year-old classic with the help of Mr. Carle's favorite medium...tissue paper. Help me count out all of the delicious foods the little caterpillar eats throughout the week! Then, enjoy one of my favorite Eric Carle books "Draw Me a Star", which is a story about himself, starting out as a small boy artist, learning to draw a star. He passes through life, drawing and drawing as he goes, and in the end, holds on to his star, and glides across the night sky... Rest in Peace, Mr. Carle <3
