Domestic workers like Glewna take pride in the work they do, but they need Congress to prioritize their needs with meaningful legislation. #IAmADomesticWorker Hear more about her story here
Last week’s family reunifications were only the beginning. There are still hundreds of children separated from their parents the work continues to make sure *every* family is reunited. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p9lMq4A9Y4U&t=2s
The way childcare was before the pandemic didn’t work for parents or caregivers. We need to move forward and create a child care system that works for everyone. #CareCantWait https://bit.ly/3fgCTxS
Women, particularly Black and brown women, have been devastated by the pandemic. We need Congress to act and provide the support they need to get back into the workforce. https://lat.ms/3bsy8QQ

As care workers, we provide long-term services and support in people’s homes. Our work is essential. #CareIsEssential

She’s on the front lines, doing her best to scrape by, with no social safety net to bail her out. This is Maria’s story. But it doesn’t have to be. We have the power to change the narrative and build a world that values and protects care workers. https://www.vox.com//national-domestic-workers-alliance-us
We need an economic plan that places CARE at its core. It’s time for a world where care is recognized for what it is: work that makes all other work possible. https://www.fastcompany.com//were-in-the-midst-of-a-caregi

There’s no question: Immigrants and essential workers have kept this country running through the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, it’s time to fight for legislation that supports and protects our essential workers.
Today we honor the movement led by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., propelled forward by so many Black women, by continuing to celebrate our power and joy and to hold those in power accountable to create an America that values our work, our lives, and our dignity. #MLKDay
Essential workers many of whom are immigrants are the backbone of this country, especially as we work to end the COVID-19 pandemic. Now more than ever, we must fight for immigrants and win protections for essential workers.
The pandemic has shown us that care is the most valuable resource in our country. Our leaders need to listen to #DomesticWorkers: our work has value, and all working people deserve good, family-supporting jobs. #CareIsEssential
When caregivers are supported, we’re all supported.
Domestic workers in Philly organized and won strong worker protections. But the work doesn’t stop there. Now we’re organizing to make sure workers know and exercise their rights. https://billypenn.com//wage-theft-worker-rights-philadelp/
Georgia We Dream In Black - National Domestic Workers Alliance members helped educate and register thousands of voters in person and online once COVID-19 hit. Chip in to ensure that Black voters in Georgia turn out in record numbers to cast their ballots in January. https://bit.ly/ga-2020-fb
Our votes are not only for ourselves, but for the futures of domestic workers, caregivers, women of color, and immigrants. We put care at the center of everything. #WeCareAboutEveryVote
In 2020, our multi-racial, multi-ethnic, multi-generational majority chose a new America. As we recover from the health and economic crises of COVID-19, it is critical that we build communities where home is truly here and safe for all. SIGN AND SHARE OUR PETITION urging the incoming administration to undo the harmful policies put in place that have inflicted cruelty and pain in immigrant communities, to impose a moratorium on deportations, new arrests and detentions, and to work with Congress on legislation that creates a roadmap to citizenship. http://moveon.org/wearehome
Women of color organized. They voted. Their voices were heard. This year, women of color not only turned out to vote, but we organized our communities to show our power at the ballot box. We spoke up for our rights as workers, as women, and as caregivers. We made it clear that our voices deserve to be heard.... But, the work doesn’t end today. We now have the opportunity to reimagine what this country could look like if we center care, care workers, and caregivers. We have the momentum to build a future where we can live and work in safety & dignity and where care work is respected as the essential work that it is. We know what work needs to be done, and we will lead the way in holding our new government accountable to create an America that values our work. And we’ll never stop organizing for a better future for the domestic workers who make all other work possible.
Women of color turned out in record numbers to vote, to combat voter suppression, and to choose our future. #WeCareAboutEveryVote

Democracy works when we all participate. Let’s show some gratitude to our poll workers and organizers, who have worked relentlessly to make sure the future of this country is chosen by its people. True heroes. #EveryVoteCounts
MY VOTE COUNTS. MI VOTO CUENTA. MY VOTE COUNTS. MI VOTO CUENTA. MY VOTE COUNTS.... MI VOTO CUENTA. See more
