Not to offend any vegans or vegetarians but from what I noticed being in the #dentalfield for almost 20 years (that’s including 4 years of #dentalschooltraining of course) that #fatsolublevitamins like #vitamina #vitamind and #vitamink in their active form, are crucial to our #oralhealth and that eating a #clean #balanced #nongmo #pastureraised diet in general results in having less to no dental cavities... Part of the reason for that is because in proper doses, #highquality #bioavailable protein #collagen and #animalfats in actuality are #antiinflammatory #antibacterial #antimicrobial However, for vegan or vegetarians, the best way to make sure you’re getting enough adequate amounts of these fat soluble vitamins is to eat plenty of leafy greens and dark orange vegetables (from what I hear sometimes from moms, it could be a challenge for the kiddies...) And very importantly, getting adequate sun exposure (I don’t believe in vitamin D supplements, sorry...) So, for all the vegan mom’s out there, most if whom already figured this stuff out, plastering the child in sunblock who refuses to eat his/her veggies, is a recipe for disaster down the road...Teeth decay would be only a mild sign of malnutrition but gut issues, ADHD, allergies & even asthma can be more of the underlying chronic concern...Proper #balance is a key to anything & everything! #thestruggleisreal - pushing the #biomimeticdentistry to the max @chitvangupta24 #tooth was #asymptotic, the client refused crown preparation but understands the possible need for a root canal if any symptoms appear. Will need to monitor the tooth closely- client is aware of pros & cons. Will be coming back for a final #composite #polishing but was #happy to leave as is! Was looking for a dentist for years to tackle this case #conservatively meanwhile the tooth obviously got only worse but keeping our again! @ 50 Broadway

K, this might stir up some things...if it wasn’t a previously treated root canal tooth, it probably wouldn’t raise too many eyebrows but this morning i decided to push the envelope(as my mentor, @Dr. Simone Deliperi would say;) Obviously, the patient was presented with all restorable options for root canal treated teeth & she understands pros & cons. The client was very specific about not removing any remaining tooth structure. Her argument was, the metal filling lasted 30 years, can’t I put smth more modern to make it last as long & not shave it down for an onlay?! After removing the mercury filling, the remaining tooth structure was evaluated and restored with Stress Reduced Direct Composite bonding. Starting the 30 year countdown @ Nature's Dental PC
