A story based on the experiences of one of our girls, sheds light on how we work with our girls to help them recover from all that they have been through.
Happy Women's Day to this trailblazer, my Didi Triveni Acharya <3 #nayajeevanfoundation #rescuefoundation
Always proud of our She-hero Triveni Didi Rescue Foundation <3
We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give. Here’s an opportunity to help the girls from Rescue Foundation and give them some hope that the skills they possess are valuable and that their hard work does pay off. The products you will find on their Instagram page are all made in-house by the girls themselves. A portion of the proceeds goes directly towards the girls who make them. Please support them by liking their Instagram page Ekatra.store https...://www.instagram.com/ekatra.store/ Your support and love will mean a lot to these girls. Please help in sharing the word. Thank you. #charity #rescuefoundation #nayajeevanfoundation #handmade
#Repost @magicalmundanelife Mumbai, Maharashtra #humantraffickingawareness ... ‘In 2005 my husband had an accident on his way back from a human trafficking rescue operation, I still don’t believe it was an accident but I was fighting a lost battle when I tried to force further investigation. . I am a former journalist and I remember visiting Kamathipura (Mumbai’s notoriously famous red light area) when I was reporting about a veteran actor tying Rakhi from a sex worker. This was my first exposure to the world of human sex trafficking . I couldn’t live with what I witnessed, when there I got talking to some girls who shared their live stories and how they were forcefully sold; kids as young as 11 years old! I went back with unrest. A discussion with my husband and looking more into it we both vowed to work for this cause and free women who have been sold, married into human slavery or kidnapped to be sucked into this world. . When we started this initiative our only intention was to rescue human slavery victims which eventually gave birth to The Rescue Foundation; Our Non Charitable Organisation which has done some great work with conducting individual and mass rescue operations over the years. . Till date we have rescued 5000 girls and have managed to build 4 home shelters across the country. . Our primary focus is Investigation, Rescue and Rehabilitation. Months go into rehabilitating girls who come out of this life. Whether mental health issues, drug addiction, unwanted pregnancies we take care of these issues and get them ready for the real world. . I am not worried of the outcome of my work, I know I am treading on risky grounds but it doesn’t scare me because the show must go on and today we have a strong core team who are human trafficking survivors and will carry on the baton if something happens to me because I earnestly wish for a world where we don’t need an NGO to curb human trafficking and I am not going to be at rest till child human trafficking is wiped out of the crime charts of India.‘ #humans #humantrafficking #magicalmundanelife #humanrights #endchildsextrafficking #childsextraffickingawareness #realpeople #instagram
