Today we celebrate International Women's Day. I couldn't be prouder to lead a team of such dedicated, smart, and capable women. Thank you Pat, Sabra and Mindy for helping NCAVI realize its mission to help people who are blind achieve their goals and maintain independence.

NCAVI is working hard to meet the growing needs in the North Country for services for those who are blind or visually impaired. Our team covers four counties (Clinton, Essex, Franklin and St. Lawrence) and we are making every effort to reach those who have asked us for assistance. Please know that during the coming weeks we may be reaching out via telephone or video conference to discuss scheduling and assessments. We are very sensitive to the growing need to protect people throughout the region and will be following both local and state guidelines with regard to appropriate protocol for maintaining and/or rescheduling appointments. Your patience and understanding are truly appreciated. Please reach out to our office if you have questions or immediate concerns.

NCAVI is very pleased to announce that Sabra Wilson has completed her certification as a Vision Rehabilitation Therapist Assistant. The NCAVI training program was developed in 2018 by Pat Wilson,COMS/VRT and was approved by the NYS Commission for the Blind for implementation. Sabra is the first candidate to complete the program. NCAVI is tremendously proud of the efforts to promote workforce development that directly support the agency's mission to help people who are blind or visually impaired. Congratulations Sabra!

Jodi Lattrell is a rock star. She's working with a group of people who are blind/visually impaired to make some cool fourth of July artwork. She's inspiring, that one.

No one has told Bob that his knitting creations are cherished by those who wear them. But that's okay with him, he's pretty sure they are.
