Your Follicular Phase The menstrual cycle is divided into three phases. The Follicular Stage starts with menstruation (also considered day 2 of your period.) The first shedding of the lining of the uterus is considered the menstrual period. The low levels of both estrogen and progesterone at this stage, allows for the shedding of the endometrium or uterine lining. As the cycle progress in the follicular stage, the follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) will begin to increase. T...his stimulates the development of several follicles, each containing an egg. At the same time, levels of estrogen, which are secreted by the ovaries, begins increasing, stimulating the uterine wall and making it thicker. If you have low estrogen levels, your basal body temperature (BBT) will have a low temperature reading prior to ovulation. If the follicular phase is longer than 17 days, this will also indicate an imbalance in estrogen. There is also an imbalance if your BBT has a high temperature reading before ovulation (above 97.5 F degrees), or if this phase is less than 10 days.

Acupuncture Increases IVF Success by 40% Women undergoing IVF were 40 percent more likely to become pregnant when they combined the procedure with acupuncture, a recent study has shown. The remarkable success rate occurred across seven acupuncture trials involving 1,366 women in a systematic review and meta-analysis published in a February 2018 issue of the British Medical Journal.... Acupuncture was delivered either just before or just after embryo transfer a step in the process of in vitro fertilization (IVF) whereby one or several embryos are placed into the uterus. The research was carried out by scientists from the University of Maryland in the United States and the VU University of Amsterdam in Holland. It is thought that acupuncture stimulates the neurotransmitters that trigger the production of gonadotrophin-releasing hormone, which controls the menstrual cycle and a woman's ovulation. Acupuncture is also thought to stimulate blood flow to the uterus and boost the production of endogenous opioids, inducing the body to relax. Women undergoing IVF were 40 percent more likely to get pregnant according to the 2018 issue of the British Medical Journal.

FATD Patient Question Question: Does acupuncture help you get over a cold? I am a 27-year-old male. I want to know if acupuncture helps you get over a cold? Answer: Thanks for your question.... Yes, in a nutshell, it helps to boost your immune system to encourage the body to heal itself quicker. The beauty of Chinese Medicine is that it differentiates dis-ease into patterns. With the common cold, Chinese Medicine differentiates between Wind Heat (includes a sore throat) and Wind Cold. Patterns determine how your acupuncturist will treat the pathogen specifically. There are acupuncture points that are common for both Wind Heat and Wind Cold patterns along with particular points that are needled just for a particular pattern. Acupuncture will help the body boost its vital energy and support the healing process. Acupuncture can usually shorten the length of a cold by 3 to 4 days. I hope this helps In happiness, Andrew Pacholyk MS L.Ac ProAcuMed.com

Magnesium & Chronic Fatigue Magnesium levels have been reported to be low in CFS sufferers. Oral magnesium supplementation has improved symptoms in those people... with CFS who had low magnesium levels. Magnesium deficiency appears to be very common in people with CFS. The reason for this discrepancy remains unclear. If people with CFS do consider Magnesium supplementation, it makes sense to have Magnesium status checked beforehand by a nutritional doctor. It appears that only people with magnesium deficiency benefit from this therapy. Nutritional supplements such as the combination of Potassium Aspartate and Magnesium Aspartate has shown benefits for chronically fatigued people in several studies. Usually, 1 gram is taken twice per day. Results have been reported within one to two weeks. Although not trace minerals, chlorophyll and acidophilus are very important when treating CFS.

I am 28 weeks pregnant and experiencing many symptoms. Can I get acupuncture? Absolutely! I treat women during their entire pregnancy. Each trimester usually offers a different set of issues. In the beginning, it's bloating, cravings, nausea or vomiting and crazy hormone levels. Acupuncture is exceptional at treating these issues. Sciatica, Bells Palsy, HBP, are also rare but are issues that have occurred within a small percent of women during their 2nd trimester.... Extensive bloating, bearing down feeling on the bladder, ankle swelling and even breaching the baby are some of acupuncture's greatest strengths come the 3rd trimester. So yes, it would be an amazing benefit to adding acupuncture weekly to your pregnancy routine. Keep up the great work!
