Rehearsal for New Year's Eve Celebratory Concert Church of St. Paul the Apostle, 60th St. & Columbus Avenue, NYC
NewYork Festival Singers will participate in a Japanese-American Friendship Concert at Carnegie Hall on Friday, February 8th at 8:00pm. We will be performing the Verdi "Requiem". The Japanese are members of the Yokohama City Chorus. The concert is free, and tickets may be obtained from the Carnegie Hall box office. All are welcome!
New York Festival Singers will participate in a concert with Spectrum Symphony, David Grunberg, Cond. at the Church of St. Paul the Apostle on Saturday, Nov. 10th, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. The concert is free, but a free-will offering will be taken to benefit victims of Hurricane Sandy. The program consists of Aarvo Paart's "In Memoriam Benjamin Britten", Mozart's Piano Concerto #20, Steven Graff, soloist, and the Faure "Requiem", Beverly Butrie, Soprano and Alec Spencer, Bass, soloists.
Coming up on October 14, another open sing--Haydn's Missa in Tempore Belli (Paukenmesse) and Byrd's Mass for Four Voices. Watch for details!
Many NYFS members were sighted today at the Sing New York's final event, The Big Sing, with six conductors, a dozen pieces of music, and hundreds of singers! (http://www.singnewyork.org/closing.html).
