I know people like the idea of stretching the ITB even though they all say it hurts when they do it (pain avoidance is a healthy neurological response) but it just doesn't stretch... https://www.painscience.com//iliotibial-band-is-uniformly-

I just had a client leave shouting to everyone in the waiting room "I feel great". This was session 3 or four and we've been exhausting her pelvis and lumbar spine looking for the problem that she had there. The only way she could get relief was by overstretching her piriformis muscles for 20 minutes but then she had pain in her SI joints bilaterally. It seemed to help her tingling down the legs and back but she preferred the ache to the tingle and pain down the legs. She showed me how she was stretching them and I noticed she was also stretching the lateral side of her ankles at the same time. The ankles are extremely important to the stability of everything above it. We traced the problem down to her ankles and she felt better than she did from any direct work. Details are everything!

Off to increase my intracranial fortitude with some Heavy Neurological Intelligence. P-DTR tethers the phenomenal to facts and as a practical science, creates possibility followed by steady gains in function where there was recalcitrance and plateauing.

A long time respected colleague of mine says what I've been saying for quite some time now about random rolling out of muscles. https://www.facebook.com/bostonbodyworker/posts/10153247553777102

Just had a client get up and leave 50 minutes into the session because he said the sacrum doesn't rotate. He said "I studied cultural anthropology and a sacrum doesn't rotate." I asked him if he felt better and he said yes... "When I get up in the morning it feels better too "(implying that he felt better because he was lying on his back). I asked if he only slept an hour... The back and forth wasn't worth it. There was no consideration of science or desire for understanding... either. The biggest problem I have is that people can't believe that the work I do works... Until they get the work (some still don't give credit). Why go to a specialist if you have all the answers? Why resist help because it isn't familiar? Why invalidate something you don't understand? These people never want the research either, they prefer the bliss of their ignorance. I find it sad when people refuse help but oh well. Life goes on. See more

I've been writing a blog a day and finishing up ones that I've already got and yesterday I wrote something that completely got eraced and I can't find it. I lost my mind today and paced around and looked at forums for about an hour on how to recover it and now I'm late for work... I hope the rest of the day doesn't play out like this... Meanwhile some of the blogs are updated on my website . Www.newyorkorthopedicmassage.com/blog

Old is not real. I tell my clients I don't believe in old age. Here's the proof...

I am part of many professional groups where people exert there knowledge over others and argue about the most self serving things. Most do it politely, but why in scientific forums do people act like they have nothing to learn or that they have found the one correct view. I have studied from Osteopaths, Chiropractors, Rolfers, Massge therapists and Manual therapists (Physical therapist) as well as other self made movement and bodywork therapists who added their own clinical knowledge. People look less intelligent when they assert their partial knowledge without any interest in gaining more perspective. Knowing when to keep an open mind and your mouth closed so you too can grow is a learned skill. Listen.

Back from finishing PDTR intermediate level! Now I must sort the knowledge! As Erik Dalton says, "the truly educated never graduate"
