We are still accepting applications for our NMS Enrichment Summer Program incoming 6th grade, current 6th, 7th, and 8th grades! This program was formerly known as Project ADEPT and have offered it in years past. Students who are interested in being active and want to explore creative ways to learn about their community through art, music, outdoor activities, and extended field trips. Students will also spend time virtually with residents at the DeMay Living Center and be able... to work together on projects throughout the summer. They will also learn about financial literacy by designing, budgeting, and attending four field trips throughout the program! Spots are limited. Click below for the application!! Middle School Families, Two important events in our middle school are the honoring of students we have lost with the presentation of our memorial awards and our yearbook dedication. NATIONAL SPELLING BEE Is Back!!! Dear Parents, This year, the Scripps National Spelling Bee has developed an online testing platform that will allow Newark to continue to host a school spelling bee, whether your children are learning in classrooms or remotely. In place of our traditional spelling bee program, we will hold the classroom-level and school-level competition through an online spelling test. Participation in the Spelling Bee is not required, but we do welcome and... encourage all students in grades six, seven, and eight to participate. Audible has opened up access to its selection of audiobooks for free to students! No personal information is required - kids can simply go to the site and start listening. The stories can be streamed via desktop, laptop, tablet, or phone. Our NCSD IT Department and staff will be holding a 1:1 device repair station on Friday, March 20 between 3-7pm. Computer repairs along with a swapping station will be available for those having issues with their devices. Location: Go to the Verdi trailer next to the student entrance by the AD office at the HS.

Hi 6th grade families! We created a new course for the entire sixth grade in Schoology. It’s called 6th Grade 2019-2020 and it has updates and discussion boards for the entire grade level. There’s also information about our new 6th grade challenge: March Kindness and a place for you to post pictures of your acts of kindness. You’re already enrolled in the course but you might not see it right away. If you don’t see it, click on My Courses on the far right side of the screen and then look for a picture of your favorite 6th grade teachers!
