The annual New York State burn ban began March 16th and runs through May 14th. Conditions for wildfires are heightened in springtime when most #wildfires occur. The annual ban has decreased spring wildfires by nearly 43 % since 2009. More info: https://www.dec.ny.gov/press/122502.html

The New Berlin Fire Station and Chobani Community Center are in the final stages of completion. The fire department members will be finishing off our meeting room, gear room, offices and storage areas. The funds needed for materials and labor were not part of the contract and will need to be raised by our membership. We would like to offer you an opportunity to not only provide monetary support but also be a part of our new location. Personalized engraved bricks are a great w...ay to honor a loved one, feature your business or organization, commemorate an important occasion, or use in memoriam. For anyone in South New Berlin.

A lot of people have been asking and commenting where the new station is located. It’s street address is 75 south Main Street in the village of New Berlin. For those coming into the village from the south it will be on the right hand side of the road before the y with lake street. And across the road directly from Ted’s body shop. I hope this helps anyone from out of town that had these questions.

Just like all of you we want to watch the big game tonight and be home with our families. Please do your part so we aren’t sweeping the road picking up parts of your car!!

The plastic is down and we can now see the front of the new station and community center. We are getting closer by the day but still have a lot of work to do on the inside. Fundraisers will soon be posted on this page as to how you can leave your legacy and be a part of our future!!

Trooper Mattice was the school resource officer for Unadilla Valley. Her memory and the lives she may have touched keep this community safe. We take this time to remember her and the commitment she had to advancing our youth.

Here is the updated snowfall forecast as snow begins to move in a little earlier then expected. Not much change from this mornings forecast. The heaviest snow is still expected during the overnight hours with NE PA into the Catskills seeing rates as high as 2-3 inches per hour.

We as an organization are saddened by the passing of past Chief Larry Lloyd who lead this department from 1985-1987. Your final bell has been rung and you are final home. Rest easy brother we will take it from here.
