Actor Clarence Williams III has passed away at the age of 81. The actor passed away June 4 from colon cancer, according to his manager. Though many remember hi...m as one of the three stars in the ABC police drama 'The Mod Squad' (1968-73) in which he played 'Linc Hayes', and other TV series and movies, the actor got his start in 1957 onstage in 'Dark of the Moon', directed by Vinette Caroll. He continued with theater, and starred opposite Geraldine Page in The Great Outdoors on Broadway. In 1965, Williams earned a Tony nomination and Theatre World award for his starring performance in Slow Dance on the Killing Ground. Williams’ other theater credits include co-starring with Maggie Smith in Tom Stoppard’s Night and Day and leading Joseph Papp’s King John at the Delacorte Theatre. Williams leaves behind his sister Sondra Pugh, daughter Jamey Phillips, niece Suyin Shaw, grandnephews Elliot Shaw and Ese Shaw and grandniece Azaria Verdin.

Legendary Hollywood Power Couple John Nicholas Cassavetes (December 9, 1929 February 3, 1989) and Virginia "Gena" Cathryn Rowlands (born June 19, 1930). J...ohn was a renown American actor, film director, and screenwriter. First popular as an actor on television and in film, Cassavetes also became a pioneer of American Independent Cinema, writing and directing movies financed in part with income from his acting work. AllMovie called him "an iconoclastic maverick,"while The New Yorker suggested that he "may be the most influential American director of the last half century." Virginia "Gena" Cathryn Rowlands is an American actress, whose career in film, stage, and television has spanned over six decades. A two-time Academy Award Best Actress nominee, and a four-time Emmy and two-time Golden Globe winner, she is known for her collaborations with her late actor-director husband John in ten films.
