It’s Opening Day for Major League Baseball and the New Project team is eagerly anticipating an exciting season! Showcasing the evolution of America’s favorite pastime is this custom exhibit case for MLB’s new NYC headquarters. Designed by ESI, this installation welcomes visitors with a display juxtaposing memorabilia and new equipment that has been repurposed in a playful way. Incorporating life-size photographic images of athletes, custom shelving, and a unique suspended grid, New Project fabricated and installed dynamic 3D displays to turn this empty white space into an animated showcase for Calvin Klein’s line of athletic wear. In addition to the organic shelving and custom metal grid hanging racks, we CNC’d and molded the static figural forms to create a sense of movement and enhance the interactivity between the viewer and the environment. #TBT This holiday installation - Forming Light by Sophia Dixon Dillo - lived up to its name in a luminous manner with 83 miles of copper embroidery fiber capturing natural and artificial light to engage viewers as they moved throughout the space. @NewProject.Bklyn engineered and fabricated custom mounts to anchor the sculptural forms, ranging from 10 feet to 71 feet in length, that were installed across two floors of the Calvin Klein Madison Avenue flagship. Today’s Focus on Art Friday is Tree by Corinne Ulmann. The work is a series of 44 laminated glass panels in a verdant array of hues that, when viewed from various perspectives, combine to form a tree canopy within the space. The dichroic glass panels take advantage of the changing light levels throughout the day to create unique views and patterns. Selected as part of the Collection of the NYC Department of Education, Public Art for Public Schools program and installed at P...S19X in the Bronx, New Project provided design engineering, fabrication and installation services. This Focus on Art Friday features Letha Wilson's Nevada Sky Moonrise Fold, a faceted photographic panel installation now on display in PS 32 Brooklyn’s recently completed addition. New Project provided design engineering, fabrication and installation services for the mural, one of three mixed media artworks by Letha Wilson that was acquired this year for the Collection of the NYC Department of Education, Public Art for Public Schools program. On this week’s Think and Build Thursday, New Project collaborated with artist Marcos Chin to design and install a custom 9' x 9’ triptych glass mural titled The Gardeners as part of this year’s NYC School Construction Authority’s Public Art for Public Schools program. Our team’s extensive experience in art and exhibit fabrication and installation plays a key role as we work with artists to develop appropriate design solutions for a wide variety of environments. At 810 lbs,... supporting the weight of the piece safely while hanging the three panels perfectly plumb, straight and aligned with each other was a significant challenge. The work is now on display in the lobby of the new addition at PS129 Queens. As clients prepare to showcase new products through experiential branding installations like the Google Nest Smart Home at Business of Home’s Future of Home conference in 2019, they want to ensure that the environment they’ve envisioned will be the optimal showcase for their products.
