NHSMUN is pleased to join the United Nations to mark Earth Day 2021 and call for action on climate change and the environment. People across the globe are marking the occasion by raising awareness of environmental issues and promoting action for a more sustainable world. The importance of caring for our precious natural resources on land and in the sea cannot be overstated. At NHSMUN, we are doing our part too! We will soon share details about our ongoing projects to make our conference more environmentally friendly. To find out what steps you can take in your community to protect our shared planet, visit www.un.org/climatechange. Our collective journey to becoming a more sustainable world continues. #EarthDay #ClimateAction #ActNow #ParisAgreement

We are so proud of NHSMUN staff alumna Renata Koch Alvarenga! Since her earliest days with NHSMUN as a staff member, Renata has always been a passionate advocate for climate action and gender equality. We can’t wait to watch her organization continue to grow and to see the lasting impact that she will unquestionably have on our world in the months and years ahead!

Even though NHSMUN is different than normal this year, we’ve been meeting the most amazing students over the last several days. We are constantly inspired by the talent and passion of our delegates. And most of all, we’re seeing firsthand that COVID is no match for Model UN!!!

Pandemic recovery is our chance to leave behind generations of exclusion & inequalities. It is time to build an equal future. This is a job for everyone and for the benefit of everyone. -- UN Secretary-General António Guterres on Monday's International Women's Day.

Sustainable development isn't possible without taking into account the needs of all people, everywhere. The #GlobalGoals aim to reduce all forms of discrimination and inequalities, many of which have been exacerbated by #COVID19. http://bit.ly/1NlhWLo

The worldwide response to #COVID19 has demonstrated the power of solidarity. People are spreading kindness through their words & deeds -- while inspiring others to do the same. No act of goodwill is too small in the fight against the pandemic. : Nat Bullard

In this video, Filippo Grandi, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, encourages students to become young champions for refugees. In UNHCR’s 2020 MUN Refugee Challenge, NHSMUN was honored to be recognized as one of two Best MUN winners in the category of countering toxic narratives. UNHCR shared the delegates’ winning resolution and ideas with policymakers, and the students should be proud to see their work make a tangible difference. We are incredibly proud of our students and their contributions to our conference. NHSMUN wouldn’t be able to run its top-quality programming without them. We are excited to participate in the 2021 MUN Refugee Challenge and encourage all to contribute to this excellent initiative! https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=RXRE3O52K9o&feature=emb_logo
