Today's From the HeART Gallery Spotlight Artist, meet Samitha Edwards!!! Samitha Edwards is a lifelong, award winning and accomplished artist. She holds a Bach...elors’ in Fine Art and Art History. She has owned a clothing boutique, exhibited in art shows for decades and has designed everything from clothing & accessories to commissioned portraiture to marketing/advertising brochures and displays. She developed an amazing after school art class program for children 6-14 that she has been running for the last two years. The class incorporates art history, technique and covers all mediums. The children in her class and Samitha have an absolute blast and at the same time create a special piece of art and more importantly walk away with an appreciation and understanding of art. Samitha is one of over fifty artists in our 3,000 square feet of gallery space. She brings an eclectic diversity of art in a vast range of mediums. Upcycled antiquities, cigar box purses, jewelry, mixed media canvas and so many more inspirational and unique items. Her love of poppies, Audrey Hepburn and Alice in Wonderland can be found scattered throughout her artwork as well as her love for animal rights and vegan/plant-based lifestyle. Her love shines through in all of her art. As the curator for From the Heart Gallery, Samitha is responsible for jurying the artists, selecting artwork and creating collections that align with the gallery and our family of artisans. She also oversees all the operations of inventory, presentation, display as well as coordinating events, social media and marketing/advertising. Samitha also consults with the artists with any areas they request assistance in such as presentation, pricing, marketing or general promotion. Samitha is truly the heart and inspiration that started and continues to blossom From the Heart Gallery.
