prayers for our friends in Nicaragua.
Please keep us in prayer! We’re already seeing bands from Eta. Pray for the people on the coast and the people near rivers and drains. Flooding is incredibly dangerous and a major threat here in Nicaragua.
Some great work being done by our friends at Smith Packing. We buy our meats and produce from Smith Packing for our Nicaragua Mission breakfast and spaghetti dinner fundraisers.
Another big fundraiser! Lots of fun and fellowship! This Friday! (This fundraiser was originally scheduled for last month, postponed because of a snow storm)
Team Members Zach and Larissa are engaged, they love Kiss Me Ice Cream!
These bride and groom Beanie Babies were meant for them- our engaged Team Members, Zach Welch and Larissa Kutzuba!
Day 1, at the Enrich Center! Carpentry projects, giving out clothing, uniforms, beans & rice. A new effort: "Tingle Talks" (charlas) education sharing with teen girls, young pregnant/ nursing mom's, and one for the guys. Each participant received a bag with toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, soap, and other goodies specific for their charla.
Our Mission Team is hard at work! Sorting out the 2000 pounds (!!) of school uniforms, shoes, cloth diapers, clothing, toys, and vegetable seeds. Thank you to Zem's for cloth diapers! Thank you Immaculate Conception School for uniforms! Thank you Oneida Dental for toothbrushes and toothpaste! Thank you to all of Central New York for all the support!
Such an empty feeling. But where God calls us to serve, we will follow!
We couldn't get permission from Nicaragua's Ministry of Health to hold medical clinics but we are going down as a humanitarian mission. We'll still give out clothing, school uniforms, toothbrushes, beans & rice, family pictures and vegetable seeds. No medicines. And we will get to help Enrich Missions as they enrich the lives of the school children in the Matgalpa area.
Cautious optimism has led to disappointment. We have not been given permission to carry out medical clinics. We will still travel to Nicaragua and carry out humanitarian efforts in whatever fashion we can with Enrich Missions.
We are cautiously optomistic we will receive the required permission to conduct our medical mission. If we do not, Plan B is a humanitarian mission. However, we need a driver to help get us to NYC. If you are willing to drive very early Friday morning, the pay isn't great, but we promise you treats when we return.
Our Team must receive permission from the Nicaraguan Ministry of Health to go to Nicaragua, to practice medicine, to hold clinics there. At this time they are refusing to grant us permission. Please pray that difficult people will soften their hearts, and that God's will shall be done.
