After a summer of NikoYogaOutdoors yoga and hiking and our retreats in nature, I opened up online classes to those who attended. I’d like to open these up to a larger community. Online isn’t the same as in person, I get it, but it’s good in a way that these classes make you show up on the mat. The classes take place on Tuesdays and Fridays at 7pm. Cost: $10 single class Or 12 classes for $90 making your class just $7.50 Message me if you’d like to join. I’m always happy to see you even if distantly.

As I stand within my body at the precipice of my life in the ever receding present moment, I fully acknowledge that I stand here because of those who walked on this earth before me, who lived and died, who rejoiced in happiness and who suffered in agony, those who ruled and those who served, who killed or were killed, who reached their vision and who did not. I acknowledge and respect their lives and the choices they made. I acknowledge the life of my own parents and their pa...rents and parents of their parents. I stand here in recognition, acceptance, and affirmation of all that had transpired. I stand here within the life that was given to me and take full responsibility for myself and the internal and external choices that I have made and will make. Through my life and my own experience I understand that it is up to me to change the trajectory of my life, of my family, and of humanity as a whole. I hold the Light within me, the Light, the Radiance of the Sun, the Light, the Power that expands the universe and out of which the galaxies are born, the Light, the electrical current that enlivens my heart and, the Light, that is the energy that forms my thought. Aligned with that Presence I walk, bringing into reality the vision of life that is contained within me. I declare Heaven on Earth. God has never banished me from Eden, I simply forgot, I forgot about Him and about myself. Now, I remember. Internally, I am.

When I found the state of trust, openness, honesty, and vulnerability, I found yoga. What state of being are you in today?

Meditation: I’d like you to forget about meditation and all the stories and expectations you have in your mind about it. I want you to let go of the idea of clearing your mind and stopping your thought. Give all of that up. Instead relax into yourself and enter an intimate space within. Enter it with openness, honesty, and sincerity. And as you sit and look within yourself you will see different layers of you emerging. Memories, emotions, thoughts will start to flood your awa...reness because you opened the gates for it to happen. You are here to allow it, to let it all unfold. Hold the space of compassion, understanding, and acceptance for yourself and others. As the moments pass and we allow everything to flow without filtering, a clear sense of who we are and a deeper relationship to ourselves will slowly come to surface. The time has come to find ourselves within. See more

There are times when shit hits the fan and you aren’t sure where to turn and how to handle the debris. You push forward like a fucking titanic all stately and strong with power and then you hit an iceberg and all of your strength leaks out and you start to sink into your usual swamps of self indignation. And yes you know better and yes positive thinking and you try to patch the hole up by throwing things at it like, it’s all going to work out, it’s temporary, but in reality i...t has been temporary for the last 5 years or so and so your ship is sinking and you realize that you just gotta build a new fucking ship. And you start building it by reshaping your psyche from ground up and that’s where shit starts to unsettle even more and it’s ginormous, the layers of pain and hurt and just pure psychological instability are ridiculous and you deal with it, you step through, you move mountains of it and feel like you start to come up when you get a slap on your face again. You try to turn to your friends, but they’ve got same shit going on, you turn to your loved one and you realize that some things are just between you and you and then you turn to you. But there isn’t you in there, well there is, but so dim and whispering that you almost can’t hear or see anything through the static programming of your own mind playing the different expectations of other people of you. The multiple filters hinder you from seeing yourself for who you truly are and so you walk around begging for alms of understanding, love, and kindness and on the good days you get it and on the bad days you don’t. And fuck that. Love starts in you and with you and the only guiding light within all this confusing shit is your own, but you gotta dig it up and let it blast through the filters and beam a clear signal through that white noise. And then you’re good and independent and fuck what everybody else thinks, you’re free to make your own decisions and stand by your opinions and wishes. Others don’t agree with you, their choice, as long as you are in agreement with yourself. See more

The heart of man is very much like the sea, it has its storms, it has its tides and in its depths it has its pearls too. Vincent Van Gogh And that is what the work is, to uncover the pearls, the talents, the original unfragmented being that is hidden behind the multiple traumas, pains, and defense mechanisms. Many of us run away from the sharp as a blade reality of strong emotions. We treat them as punishment for our actions and thoughts and even our being as a whole. We le...arn very fast the escape mechanisms and things that come along: alcohol, cigarettes, substances, sex, religion, video games, netflix binging, social media, anything to take us away from what we feel. If we do not, however, let ourselves feel the depth of the painful gut wrenching emotions then we can’t grow from it and feel the splendor and the beauty of the heart that feels love. The same thread runs through our yoga practice. If we do not accept where our body is in any particular pose, if we do not enter the place of vulnerability and open ourselves up to all the feelings that flood us then we can’t move forward and feel the fountain of energy running through us unhindered. Come to find acceptance and kindness within yourself as we move and breathe in union. See more

There are two aspects of man’s existence which are the special province and expression of his sense of life: love and art. I am referring here to romantic love, in the serious meaning of that termas distinguished from the superficial infatuations of those whose sense of life is devoid of any consistent values, i.e., of any lasting emotions other than fear. Love is a response to values. It is with a person’s sense of life that one falls in lovewith that essential sum, that f...undamental stand or way of facing existence, which is the essence of a personality. One falls in love with the embodiment of the values that formed a person’s character, which are reflected in his widest goals or smallest gestures, which create the style of his soulthe individual style of a unique, unrepeatable, irreplaceable consciousness. It is one’s own sense of life that acts as the selector, and responds to what it recognizes as one’s own basic values in the person of another. It is not a matter of professed convictions (though these are not irrelevant); it is a matter of much more profound, conscious and subconscious harmony. Many errors and tragic disillusionments are possible in this process of emotional recognition, since a sense of life, by itself, is not a reliable cognitive guide. And if there are degrees of evil, then one of the most evil consequences of mysticismin terms of human sufferingis the belief that love is a matter of the heart, not the mind, that love is an emotion independent of reason, that love is blind and impervious to the power of philosophy. Love is the expression of philosophyof a subconscious philosophical sumand, perhaps, no other aspect of human existence needs the conscious power of philosophy quite so desperately. When that power is called upon to verify and support an emotional appraisal, when love is a conscious integration of reason and emotion, of mind and values, thenand only thenit is the greatest reward of man’s life.
