If conservatives truly wanted to curb later abortions, they wouldn’t make it so incredibly difficult for so many women to get earlier ones. Of course, if their concern were actually about women’s health and safety, they wouldn’t be trying to make abortion illegal at all. https://www.nytimes.com//opi/abortion-pill-fda-covid.html

Make sure you cast a ballot for reproductive freedom in NYC! With an anti-abortion majority on the Supreme Court and extremist politicians waging battles against reproductive freedom in cities and states across the country, it is critical that NYC remains a bastion for reproductive freedom in 2021 and beyond. "Reproductive rights and justice advocates have long noted that a right to abortion without access is a right in name only, and restrictions like Hyde can place often insurmountable barriers to access abortion, while perpetuating racial and economic inequality two issues Biden campaigned on." https://www.theguardian.com//joe-biden-abortion-hyde-amend

Happy Pride month!
NIRH is proud to celebrate the LGBTQ+ activists and organizers of today and yesterday fighting for health care, bodily autonomy, and civil rights! We know that people of all genders and sexualities need access to reproductive health care and LGBTQ+ communities face unique barriers in the form of inadequate insurance coverage, discriminatory restrictions, and stigma. We’re proud to partner with organizations to develop innovative solutions to the challenges LGBTQ+ communitie...s face when it comes to accessing care. Special shout out to All Above All and the YWCA Kalamazoo who worked to make Kalamazoo the first city with a Reproductive Health Fund that supports a broad range of reproductive and sexual health care options. Through a shared vision and strategy, we secured county funding for the Reproductive Health Fund, covering gender-affirming care a critical lifeline for the trans community. There is a lot still to fight for but also so much to celebrate! Happy Pride Month! See more
