A Crackerjack of a Day According to legend, a unique popcorn, peanuts, and molasses confection (the forerunner to Cracker Jack's caramel-coated popcorn and peanuts) was introduced by F.W. Rueckheim and Brother at the World's Columbian Exposition, Chicago's first World's Fair. In 1896, the brothers discovered a process for keeping the molasses-covered popcorn morsels from sticking together. This secret formula is still in use to this day. https://youtu.be/agig2HNLmbI
Flag Day Today is U.S. Flag Day. Flag Facts Heft learned to sew on his mother’s sewing machine in order to complete his project. He hand-cut 100 stars and applied them in his new arrangement on both sides of the blue field of his parents’ old flag. It took him more than 12 hours.... Heft’s design was chosen from among more than 1,500 designs submitted for consideration. Heft also designed a 51-star design for the American flag in the event that another state joined the union in the future. Numerous individuals as well as museums offered to purchase the original flag from Heft, including one offer of $350,000. Photo by Aaron Burden on Unsplash See more

Sun Tea Sunday In celebration of Iced Tea Month, make sun tea by placing nine tea bags in a clean one-gallon jar. Fill the jar with cold water. Cap the jar loosely and place in hot sunshine for three to four hours to brew. Remove tea bags. Add ice and sweeten to taste with sugar, fruit juice, or sweetener. Make a variety of black, green, and decaf herbal teas.
