A reminder that, Budget and Board vote is 72 hours or so from being final for all of us in Niskayuna. Please use this opportunity to get out there and make your voice heard. Not only is it a civic duty, it is a platform to be heard and inspire whatever it is you wish to see in our community. Polls are open from 7am to 9pm at Niskayuna High School, on Tuesday, May 18th. Please remember to wear your mask and remain socially distanced. I have had the honor to serve on the NCSD ...Board of Education for the last 3 years, and I am seeking re-election. Many would say I'm off my rocker, but this has been such an amazingly wonderful 3 years, even with the ups and downs, but a lot of progress has taken place. And lets face it, this was a year no one expected. We all got through it, in my case as a board member, I attribute this success to a strong leadership team, a resilient board of 6 members I serve with, kids and families, and the invaluable faculty and staff of NCSD. If you choose to vote for me, I cannot guarantee perfection of everything related to education. However, I can guarantee you will get a lifelong learner, hard worker, listener, advocate, atypical Niskayuna resident and tax payer, experienced current board member with no learning curve to overcome, and a person with the heart and soul to commit to our stakeholders for 3 more years. Tomorrow, May 18th, is an important day in Niskayuna. There are decisions to be made regarding budget and board members. I will never ask or tell anyone which decisions they should make, but I can provide information as to how those decisions can be made. Absentee ballots can be dropped off in the red box up until 5pm at Van Antwerp MS, and polls are open from 7am to 9pm at NHS. ...
