For the remainder of the 2020 calendar year ALL First Time Home Buyer in house classes will be held via ZOOM. When completing the applicant registration form for the in house class please include a valid email address for the class ZOOM link and be sure to use a device with at least audio capabilities. The fee remains $75 per applicant. The current online classes will remain available to applicants NOT looking to apply for our first time home buyer grant, and who need education only for a mortgage product.

If you are currently registered for the August 14th or August 21st Homebuyer education class, please contact our office as soon as possible, speak with Shelley McLellan. We have made some changes to stay in compliance with all safety guidelines surrounding the COVID 19

Our August Home Buyer Education Classes are full. Our next available class will be held on September 18, 2020. The registration form and information can be accessed from our website: nocohousing.org or by calling our office at 315-386-8576 Funding for down payment and closing cost assistance is limited and is on a first come first serve basis as available. Applicants must complete the in house home buyer education course prior to application.

North Country Housing Council has 3 two bedroom apartments available located on Market Street in Potsdam and 1 two bedroom apartment in Canton available. For more information, please call our office at 315-386-8576

Currently, North Country Housing Council has grant funding available for septic replacement/repair; Madrid township rehab grant for homeowner occupied homes; Lead grant for St. Lawrence County to identify lead hazards in your home; two first time home buyer grants that assist with closing costs and down payments for qualified buyers and homes. Update of business. As we continue to navigate these times, in an effort to protect our staff and customers we will be adhering to the following State and CDC guidelines and recommendations: A portion of our staff will be returning to the office in a limited contact work environment beginning June 8, 2020.... All contact with customers will be on a scheduled appointment basis only at this time. Our staff will be available to answer questions regarding our grants etc..via phone and email during the hours of 8am to 4pm Monday through Thursday. Our emails and extensions are listed on our website: nocohousing.org Regarding our Homebuyer Education classes we will be suspending all classes until August 2020. We will be adding two dates of Friday August 14th & Friday August 21st to our class schedule at this time. Then continue with the scheduled classes in September, October & November 2020. If you had signed up for the March, April or June classes please contact our office and let us know if you wish to be automatically put in the August classes or beyond. The Housing Council is continuing to do our part to help stop the spread of this virus. Our office will be closed until further notice to protect our staff and customers. The entire staff is currently working from home and can be reached via email or voicemail. We have postponed all upcoming appointments including the April Homebuyer Education class, and will reschedule as soon as we are able. Please be safe and stay healthy.
