North Country Puppies

Life has a way of coming up with a new twist just when you think it is all figured out and you know where you are headed.........at least my life seems to go th...at way! :) So it seems now as we had planned so long and waited so impatiently to move back to Alaska, our steps have turned north in another direction. We have decided to explore another opportunity in New Hampshire. A beautiful little state that really does have real mountains. They are not the same as the mountains of the west but I must confess they really are mountains! (ok, so for my Alaskan friends, maybe I have been gone from home long enough that my perceptions are altered!) But in my defense, my sense of direction that faded with the Rocky Mountains, as we drove east, suddenly appeared as we drove through the White Mountains of NH! It was a truly stunning experience that shocked me as I realized that I once again knew instantly which way I was headed even after making several turns. I realized that the mountains where in my peripheral vision and without knowing it my brain could now figure out which way we were headed......... its been over 8 years of never quite knowing exactly which way I was going! Understanding how unfriendly Alaska is to small farmers, and how the regulation has become even harsher since we left, we assessed our resources, and the needs of our family and thought maybe we should consider other places near by. So we have discovered that the farming regulations in NH are very friendly to small farmers like us. Its been a challenging decision for me especially! I was looking forward to the peace and quite of the wilderness. We will be just min. from the White Mountain National Forest in a very rural place in a state that is known for its freedom. It will soften the blow of missing Alaska.......for now. I already have a new adventure up my sleeve for when we come home to AK, but it will take some time to plan and prepare for so until then we will bloom where we are planted we will work to make the world around us a better place. We will make new friends, learn our way around new towns, and explore new mountains! Join us on this new adventure! Well the deed was done I cut the countertop for the sink........it fit! :). So the counter top is now installed in the bus! Yeah! I need to get pictures maybe in a few days........ :)

Last couple of weeks I have been stalled a bit on the bus, working on packing and sorting stuff, meeting with realtor. Looks like our closing date will be move...d up into March instead of the end of April. Even with the distractions we have made progress on the bus. So here are a few new pictures. The counter top is trimmed sanded and sealed with my special food safe wood sealer that I have developed. Now it is officially ready to be cut for the sink. I just need to do a little figuring and make a template, then cut! Also Rhonda had a idea for our kitchen cabinet door panels. To kind of match the wood stove. They are punched galvanized tin there are going to be three these are the first 2. Sorry the cabin one still has the tape from the paper template she used to punch, but I will add more pictures when they are installed.
