UPDATE: This is actually GOOD news for once! I was informed by my local chapter of AMTA that the state has changed MY category for therapeutic massage to an ESSENTIAL BUSINESS! The state has split Massage therapy into two categories. SPA AND MEDICALLY NECESSARY MASSAGE. ... Since I do medically necessary/medical massage, I am fortunate to be able to stay open when other service industry businesses will have to shut down when we reach orange and red county levels with COVID-19. SPA related massage will be mandated to close. This is a HUGE win for my industry and others that do medical based massage BECAUSE in the future, I will be recognized as a MEDICAL provider and recognized by physicians as being NECESSARY for rehabilitation for their patients. The future ramifications with insurance paying for massage is next. I will, however, continue to be at half capacity and ONLY be seeing 4 patients a day due to the increase in Covid-19 to keep my exposure rate lowered. As always, PLEASE, wear your masks, wash your hands, don’t touch your face and social distance. Do your part so we can get this under control. If you are not feeling well, it is YOUR duty to inform me of this and cancel and reschedule your appointments. Stay safe, be smart and I am here to fix you when you need me. Thank you for your continued support and your exceptional kindness. Judy

Hello, everyone. I will be returning to the office Monday October 12. I will be seeing a limited amount of people daily. If I have not reached out to you to set up an appointment and you are in need of one, please reach out to me. Thank you for your continued patience, support and understanding during these days of uncertainty. Our state and local positive COVID-19 cases are creeping up and it’s possible we could go through another shut down. Please remember to wear your ...masks, wash your hands and social distance. As always, if you are not feeling well, under quarantine or have been in contact with a covid positive person, please reschedule your appointment. Also, strict guidelines are still in place, temperature checks and mandatory mask wearing for the entire duration of your appointment is required. Thank you and see you soon! Judy See more

UPDATE: The office will be closed now through mid October due to the college and younger students as well as teachers and staff returning to school. I am waiting to see how this all pans out and if the COVID-19 numbers will jump in our area. I am doing my best to keep clients and myself and family as safe as possible. We are all uncertain of how this will work out and until we have an idea, I will be shut down until we know. I’m sorry for the inconvenience this will cau...se but please know, it will be just a hiccup in the grand scheme. Please be safe, be smart and wear your mask and practice social distancing. I will keep you updated of our progress and reopening plans. Reach out to me if you are having issues and we’ll work together to manage them. Thank you for understanding in these very uncertain times. Judy See more

Update: As of this week, I will no longer be able to see clients and patients for an unknown amount of time. Massage therapists are mandated by the state to have covid-19 testing every two weeks. I was just informed by my physicians office that the insurance companies and the state are not reimbursing for the testing which means I can no longer have 20 minute rapid testing done and will have to have testing that takes 3-10 days and pay for tests out of pocket. I am attempt...ing to contact the NYSDOH as well as my governing body, AMTA for guidance. I cannot see patients in clients in good faith knowing there is great potential for me to be covid positive and not able to get rapid results, as I am seeing people every day. Please stay turned and I will update you as soon as possible. Thank you for understanding. Judy See more
