Butterflies are free! So is this fun learning at home project from Northern Dutchess Day Care by Ramapo for Children. Have your child paint a coffee filter with bright paints, either regular or watercolor. Or, use markers and then spray with water and watch the colors merge. Encourage creative designs! Once the filter dries, bunch it in the middle and wrap a pipe cleaner around it for the butterfly's body. Curl the top ends to make antennae. Then go outside and look for real butterflies! For learning tips or child care needs, contact us at [email protected]. We have loads of summer ideas to share!
Northern Dutchess Day Care by Ramapo for Children loves outdoor learning! If at home teaching is driving you "buggy", we are here to help. Try exploring outside with your children. Look under rocks, leaves, and sticks-you never know who... or what... you may find! Children love making mini habitats for the bugs they find. Catch, learn, and release, all with gentle, loving hands! Contact us at [email protected] for learning ideas or child care needs.

Northern Dutchess Day Care by Ramapo for Children loves to share! Here's something fun to do with your little ones: Go for a Nature Treasure Hunt walk. Find something green. Something yellow. Something alive. Something soft! (Small, big... you get the idea.) As you discover together, you create opportunities for language, observation, reasoning, and classification. So much learning can happen in one little walk! This activity can be part of a daily routine and modified for different ages. <3 Contact Director. Priscilla Gideon, at [email protected] for any learning-at-home ideas or needs and questions regarding child care.
