PLEASE SHARE in GROUPS: Dear Friends/ Tribal Members/ Freedom Fighters, It's been three days since the NYS religious exemption was taken from us in the most he...artbreaking and corrupt way. We are still reeling as a community; it will take time to heal. Please keep this in mind: We created EXCEPTIONAL arguments/ infomation/ artwork to share with our reps and we worked relentlessly to share it all. By rights, we won the hearts of our reps and we won the day. But the dark drugs of power and money stole our win. But EVERY problem has a solution if you look at it with an open heart, a clear mind and friends you can count on. So focus on the good that has happened over the last few months as there has been so much. And maybe this time next year, we will look back and see this as the path our issue needed to take. SO WHAT'S NOW AND WHAT'S NEXT? 1.) Children's Health Defense, Bobby Kennedy's organization, is litigating this issue from several standpoints and will be taking a multi-pronged approach. His team includes the best lawyers in our movement and a win benefits us all. Many have asked me if Patricia Finn is affiliated with CHD. Right now, the answer is NO. She is also not affiliated with New York Alliance for Vaccine Rights, though her posts have included photos we have taken at our meetings. I encourage all to support CHD exclusively as they have the resources and talent to take this issue on with, in my opinion, the highest probability of success. While I cannot share strategy, arguments are being written as we speak. Shared from a CHD lawyer, "Attorneys will be trying to file before the law takes effect 30 days from when it was signed into law. By my calculus, the first school day after 30 days would be Monday, July 15. I can't give any guarantees, but in order to stop it from going into effect, one would need to file before the period ends and get a court to hear it and make a decision. Obviously people will be trying to do this as soon as possible." 2.) Jonathan Doe (FB name, Nassau resident) has been researching alternative learning approaches for several months. Friend him to connect, learn, explore, help. I and Dr. P will be involved to an extent as we are welcomed. I would LOVE to volunteer for an alternative learning experience and so would he. Here's how he sees it: "We don't eat their food, we don't see their doctors, we don't use their chemicals- why should we go to their schools?" Please explore this as a community. Every single parent I have ever spoken to who has turned their back on public school said it was the BEST thing they ever did. I am sure all know others out there- let's learn about this and how it could fit into life even if work is an issue. No matter what happens with the lawsuit(s), it's an upbeat exploration for all of us- doing is better than stewing! 3.) I know we are all stressed, but if anyone is NOT committed to refusing vaccines for their kids no matter what, please unfriend me/ unfollow me. Now. If you just entered the fight, better late than never and I welcome all who want to jump in and do. But if you are not committeed 100%, just go. 4.) I will be reaching out to the Suffolk County GOP to help the Republican candidates in 2020. If we don't get back the Senate Republican majority, this will constantly be an issue for us- even if we win the suit. We earned 5 NO votes from the Dems in the Senate. If we can get even five of the nine seats back to red, we have a chance of balancing this out. Contact your local GOP TOMORROW. Don't ask me for the number, find it. And if you don't know your reps at this point, go to nysenate.gov and nyassembly.gov and make two new friends/ get a new hobby. 5.) One of our members is a national expert on Civil Disobedience.
