COVID-19 Update March 16, 2020 Dear NSFC fencers and parents, As part of the joint regional action between NY, NJ and CT to slow/stop the spread of COVID-19, the following change is being put into effect in order to reduce community spread, effective immediately:... All classes have been canceled for the week until next Monday Free fencing has been canceled for the week until next Monday Private lessons are NOT canceled. As of now, this will only be in effect until next Monday but, as with everything surrounding COVID-19, it is all subject to change. As a reminder, here are some of the safety precautions you can take to help protect yourself and the community: 1. Wash your hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. 2. Cover any coughs or sneezes with a disposable tissue or napkin and then promptly throw it in the trash 3. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, mouth, or any cuts with your hands. In this trying time, the one thing we can do to help us work together to ensure that proper safety measures are being enacted. Dear NSFC fencers and parents, The wellbeing of all the fencers, parents and staff here at North Shore Fencers Club is of the utmost importance to us. In the last few weeks, the situation concerning COVID-19 has been ramping up dramatically. We are staying open as of now, though that is dependent on how the situation escalates. As we mentioned in our last email, we have been working had to keep the club and the equipment disinfected and cleaned daily. In addition to these pr...ecautions, we are taking the following precautions based on guidelines from the CDC: Capacity for all our classes is being restricted to 50% for the time being. Lesson availability and times may be changed or restricted depending on the situation. Since community spread is a big factor in the health and safety of everyone, we ask that anyone who is feeling sick or showing ANY symptoms of COVID-19 to stay home from the club and contact us immediately. Another great weekend for our club!!! Congratulations to Kira Nguen for Winning Gold Medal at Duel of the East Coast. RYC/RCC. Also congratulations to Om Thakur for finishing in 7th Place in Y12ME and Tae Kim for finishing in 5th Place in Y10ME. Special shout out to our coaches Sergei Gubarev, Seegei Rassolko, Yana Vorobyeva and Alexander Gofman.
