North Side Learning Center continues to find innovative ways to support our students during this challenging time. Many of our students are struggling to navigate online learning and finding it difficult to complete their schoolwork. The semester approach the Syracuse City Schools implemented created a make or break time for high school students. With very real implications for whether students will graduate this year. So, rather than taking our Holiday Break, more than ...35 students attended daily sessions and spent 6-8 hours a day catching up. The quiet, positive, and supportive environment boosted our students’ morale and motivated them to complete their assignments. For most students, their grade averages were around 20, but now, most students are earning 75 to 80 in the 2nd marking period. NSLC is the place where student needs get met, and we are working hard to ensure our students do not lose their educational dreams. Very proud and thankful for the great work Shabani Asmani and Celestin Waso have been doing during their On Point Internships at the North Side Learning Center.
