And there it is everyone!!! We are super excited about the new addition to the fleet!

This afternoon, NFD was requested by Hope FD to the hope falls trail with our argo for a female with a possible broken leg, unknown how far up the trail. Arriving command investigated, finding out there is no way to fit the argo up the trail. While Northville and Hope command discussed a different route, Northville units as well as a NYS forest ranger deployed on foot up the trail to asses the injuries, A different route was found, possibly leading to the vicinity of the pati...ent. The argo was deployed, running into numerous trees that had to be cut, up a narrow 2 mile road way where they were able to get within 500 yards of the patient. Unfortunately the patient was down a very steep hillside where argo units had to carry the stokes basket with another NYS forest ranger, package the patient, and carry back up the very steep mountain side while Northampton EMS medics treated the pain and assets the exact extent of the injuries. This is the very real, and very scary fact of the fire service all around the country. That’s why you see fire in you signs at nearly every FD. It is very w...arm again today and conditions are ripe for brush and grass fires to get out of control quickly. For the safety of our First Responders that have to deal with extinguishing these types of fires, please use caution; be responsible; and follow all rules & regulations!.

We hope everyone is having a great Memorial Day weekend, and not forgetting just what this weekend is about With the unfortunate COVID 19 regulations, there will be no parade this year, however there will be a procession which will be going down every street in the village. Beginning at 6pm tomorrow, starting at the ENCON office on South Main. We want everyone to be able to see the procession, and if you would like to join in you’re more then welcome to do so! No horns or s...irens will be used in this memorial procession. We will be stopping at the spill way, both Main Street and prospect cemeteries, as well as the post office to place wreaths as well. From a 1:30am structure fire in Broadalbin, straight into 5 birthdays with Edinburg Fire Company, It’s safe to say we are all ready to go home and relax! Also a huge thanks to happily baked bakery for the donation of the breakfast sandwiches, and to Stewart’s for the coffee to the fire fighters this morning!
