NTPAL 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament The North Tonawanda Police Athletic League in conjunction with the City of North Tonawanda Department of Youth, Recreation an...d Parks presents, a FREE Youth 3 on 3 basketball tournament. * Saturday, June 26 * Payne Memorial Park Basketball Courts * FREE to NT Residents We're ecstatic to be combining efforts with the NT Police Dept. and the NT Police Athletic League (NTPAL) to bring you this exciting community event. The day will begin with a free basketball skills clinic for boys and girls in grades 2 and 3. The NT Police will be providing instruction to help introduce and improve the kids with the basic fundamentals of basketball. Next, the day will continue with a series of 3v3 basketball tournaments for kids in grades 5 all the way up to 12. (Divided appropriately by age, of course) Sign up as an individual and we'll put you on a team with your peers. Or, you can sign up as a team. Just tell us what friends you want to play with during registration. Each team will consist of 4 players. If you only have 2 people for your "team", we will fill in the rest. The police officers will act as coaches and officials for the day's competitions. The day will also include music, food and, fun for everyone involved. Kids grow like weeds.... that we know. If your child has grown out of their sporting equipment and you are looking to declutter, we will take that gently used ...equipment off of your hands to help out other families whose little ones may be trying a sport for the first time. Right now we are in need of cleats. Youth soccer, football, and softball. If you have any laying around you're looking to unload, contact Michelle and she will come by to pick them up. FREE FOR ALL Residents and Non-residents welcome ALL AGES WELCOME REGISTRATION REQUIRED Join us for our Sensory Friendly, Inclusive Easter Egg Hunt which will take place on Saturday, April 3 from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM at Pine Woods Park in North Tonawanda. The day will include exclusive access to the park to allow for a stress-free, sensory-friendly environment for your child to hunt for Easter eggs, take part in adaptive activities and create their own Easter-themed arts & crafts. The Easter Bunny and Elmo will be wandering around the park and will be available for picture-taking opportunities. Remy, a therapy dog in training from the NTPD will be on hand to visit with the kids. A quiet tent will be set up for any child who finds they need to take a break from the excitement and activities. Masks will be required to be worn by all participants, siblings, parents, and caretakers at all times. Sanitation stations will be available throughout the park in order to assist in keeping everyone safe. Siblings are welcome to join. Space is limited. Our youth board is comprised of adults from the NT community who want to assist in the planning and implementation of developmental and leadership activities for our youth. In the past we've sponsored Student Government Day, the Post Prom Gala, Family Camp Out, and sensory-friendly activities at The REC, just to name just a few.
