On May 16, 2014, Nuit Blanche New York transformed the Knockdown Center for Red Bull Music Academy’s Hardcore Activity in Progress, featuring appearances by the most extreme recording artists in metal, techno, jazz, classical, noise, hip hop, and beyond. The 50,000 square foot venue flickered with intense stroboscopic effects, reflected imagery, and manipulated projections--mirroring the action of the sound waves radiating through the cavernous space. This multi-layered, immersive design by Nuit Blanche New York (NBNY) incorporated projection mapping technology, live video, theatrical lighting, and creative integration of natural vibration, reflection and shadow.
