We invite you to join us for a farewell reception for NURTUREart this Thursday, July 25, 69pm. As our final season draws to a close, we will gather to bid our space and programs farewell and celebrate the community of artists, curators, and students who have shared their work with us, and the current and former staff who have carried forward our mission for over 22 years. In conjunction with the reception, from 78:30pm, we will host a selection of short films by Yto Barrada... (@ytobarrada), Keren Benbenisty (@keren_benbenisty), and LuLu Meng (@lulumeng.s), and a performance with Shahrzad Changalvaee (@shahrzadchang), curated by Mira Dayal (@miradaya) and Janna Dyk (@jannadyk). Each artist will present work that shifts the expected relationships between language, material, and recorded histories. Thank you to all of those who’ve sent so many generous, heartfelt, and thoughtful messages in these last few days. - Earlier this week we announced that after careful consideration, we have decided that our current season of programming will be our last. Due to a confluence of resource challenges and a shifting environment for non-profits, we find ourselves unable to continue serving our communities in our ideal capacity. We are grateful to have been able to make a dynamic c...ontribution to the creative vibrancy of art in New York City over the course of our 22 years. We would like to thank our community of supporters who made it possible for us to provide services to emerging artists and curators, as well as local public school students. - Please come visit, we’re extending our final exhibition to Sunday, June 30. (Im)perfection is a group exhibition curated by Project Curate students of Juan Morel Campos High School with Simone Couto and featuring artists Donna Cleary, Kate Donnelly, Jude Griebel, Winnie van der Rijn, Jason Rondinelli, and Jon Verney. Open today, 126pm. - Stay tuned for farewell reception news, details will be forthcoming shortly. - #farewellnurtureart #nonprofit #22years @ NURTUREart Non-Profit See more
