Starting off the NewYear with an emotional post warning about the dangers of Opiates - specifically Fentanyl - killing so many young people today. If you haven’t, already, educate yourself about these drugs & talk to your kids about them!

So sad to hear about the devastation in Puerto Rico and other Islands in the area that were hit by Hurricane Maria - The US Virgin Islands, St. Croix, St. Thomas, and soon the DR and Turks & Caicos. They are going to need lots of assistance: donations, rebuilding, re-creating the infrastructure of the Islands, but also rebuilding the lives and families that were there for generations and now find their communities torn apart, many without homes or workplaces to return to. And these people may need to survive in darkness for WEEKS, if not MONTHS... I'll find out where and how you can donate to hurricane victims of Maria and post back here soon!

So glad to see this article about the benefits of teaching Mindfulness to children - Perhaps a better, more permanent answer to meds for many children with attention and behavior issues.
