CELEBRATING 84 YEARS OF ACHIEVEMENT AND SERVICE TO THE NEW YORK METRO AREA THE NEW YORK ALUMNI CHAPTER CHARTERED FEBRUARY 20, 1937... 84 years ago on this very date, 41 visionary men received a charter from International Headquarters and embarked upon the grand mission of bringing impactful community service initiatives to the island of Manhattan and our surrounding neighborhood of Harlem Now, 84 years removed from that historic day in Kappa's rich and illustrious history, our beloved chapter still stands proudly Coincidentally during #BlackHistoryMonth we are also reminded and are honored that great Kappa Men including all of our charter members, Irvin S. Hamer (1st Chapter Polemarch), Arturo Alfonso Schomburg, Arthur R. Ashe, Percy Sutton, Basil A. Paterson, Donald Byrd, Dr. William "Billy" Taylor, Reginald F. Lewis, Honorable Livingston L. Wingate, Oliver W. Parson, Jonathan P. Hicks, Dr. Rev Samuel D. Proctor, Dr. C. Vernon Mason, Rev Dr Calvin O.
