Chromebooks are purring with activity in Ms. Hennessy's eighth grade App Creators class. Working with the MIT App Inventor site, students are coding their own #HelloPur project. This course is part of our #NyackSchools PLTW - Project Lead The Way curriculum that focuses on hands-on, real-world learning experiences. #CSEdWeek2020

From pencil and paper to 3-dimensional, computer-aided design, students in Elliot Scharf's Engineering and Design classes are learning the elements needed to create Soma Cubes. Hand drawn specs will be rebuilt in a digital format using the Autodesk Inventor program. Combining traditional methods with technology supports the understanding of spacial relationships and the principals of design. #CSEdWeek #NyackSchools #STEMLearning

Throughout #NyackSchools children are taking part in the global #HourofCode! Both hybrid and remote learners at Upper Nyack Elementary School explore the world of Code.org during their library period. #CSEdWeek2020

With the launch of the #MatteringCampaign this fall, Nyack Middle School students were tasked with an important project - design a logo to represent the program. Working with teachers, the young artists were asked to visualize what "mattering" looks like in the #NyackSchools.
