ANNOUNCEMENT! Join us for our Cow to Cone Virtual Field Trip Series in partnership with Robbins Family Grain and North Harbor Dairy and Old McDonald's Farm on Tuesdays this May and June. In 40 minutes on each Tuesday we will learn about a different element of how a dairy farm raises and cares for their animals, and our final field trip ends with an ice cream making extravaganza. Early classroom registration for this series will include sensory items and tools used on a dairy... farm shipped to you for your students to explore. Teachers can register for the entire series, or individual topics and dates. Students, parents, teachers, communities, and the general public are invited to celebrate the photographers and see their work in the virtual opening of the Schoolyard Sugaring Maple Contest Photography Exhibit virtual exhibition opening on Friday, May 14, 2021 at 6pm. Join us on a Virtual Field Trip to Thunder View Farms and meet the incredible Coombe Family. Learn all about their 5th generation beef farm in Grahamsville, NY on Wednesday, May 26th at 12:30pm. Your students will learn about raising beef cattle, calves, health, and what cattle eat. Your students will receive an individually packed bag of items they will see during the field to smell and touch some of things they would see if they were on the farm in person. Calling all teachers! Applications are available to join us for an immersive experience following the beef lifecycle from the farm, to processing, and cooking through virtual visits with farmers and experts in the field. Teachers will learn how their new knowledge can be applied to the STEM classroom through provided hands-on lessons, and cooking along with a chef! Participants will receive up to 11 hours of CTLE credit, and over $200 in classroom kits and resources to implement the lessons and experiences from this professional development!
