The 2020 NY BASS High School Team Trail Wrap Up! Our High School Team Trail started out with our inaugural NY State Fair Classic on Onondaga Lake on August 24th 2019. What an eventbig crowd, great fishing and all of our anglers were escorted by the NY State Police from the lake to the NY State Fairgrounds. What can be better that that? The Team of Garrett Lawton and Christian Misciagna took first place honors followed by Caden Chartier and Angelo Palazzo who took second pl...ace. Our second event was held on Sandy Pond on September 14th 2019. The wind was blowing pretty good and fishing was a little tough. First place honors we earned by the team of Owen Niles and Tanner Mejias with the team of Garrett Lawton and Christian Misciagna taking second place. With the onset of Covid 19 the team trail was forced to take a hiatus for a few months but restarted on August 29th 2020 on Sodus Bay. This tournament served as both our NY BASS State Qualifier and the third team trail tournament. The weather threatened but held off and the fishing was overall pretty good. First place honors were earned by the team of Rein Golub and Matthew Pitcher with second place finish going to Carter Pinkley and Karson Kimble. Both of these teams earned a bid to the Bassmaster High School National Championship. Congratulations! Our fourth and final team trail event was held on Onondaga Lake on September 12th 2020. The weather cooperated as well as the fish. Carter Pinkley and Karson Kimble took first place followed by Rein Golub and Matthew Pitcher in second. So, at the conclusion of the 2020 NY BASS HS Team Trail we had the teams of Garrett Lawton and Christian Misciagna tied with team Rein Golub and Matthew Pitcher. Amazing! After applying our tie-breakers rules the team of Rein Golub and Matthew Pitcher took first place due to overall weight caught. What a comeback! Congratulations to all the teams that participated in the 2020 NY BASS High School and especially to Rein and Matthew our 2020 Team Trail Champions! See more

Official Release August 29th/30th NY B.A.S.S Junior; High School; & Collegiate State Events The winds blew and the rain fell but we were still able to pull off our junior, high school and college tournaments this past weekend.... On Saturday the high school state qualifier went off with an 11 boat field. Rein Golub and Matthew Pitcher took first place honors with a stout 19 pound 5 ounce bag. They were followed by second place finishers Carter Pinkley and Carson Kimball who landed a very respectable 15 pounds 10 ounce catch anchored by a 4 pound 11 ounce tournament lunker. On Sunday the weather took a change for the worse as the winds really began to blow. Due to a small boat advisory on lake Ontario the lake was placed off limits to fishing. This greatly affected the fishing as every team had to fish within Sodus Bay. The college field of seven boats launched at 6:30am. Within the first few hours everyone realized that in order to land fish they were going to have to really grind it. Nate Wojslaw and Brandon Exner from SUNY ESF earned first place with 12 pounds 6 ounces bag. Harry Day and Steven Gowron from the University of Buffalo followed in second place with 11 pounds 10 ounce catch. Also, on Sunday our juniors launched at 7:30am for our New York State Qualifier. By the time the youngster reached their spots the morning bite had ended. Amazingly Dominic Bianchi managed to hunt down a nice catch weighing in at 13 pounds 8 ounce for first place. In second place Caleb Hillenbrand was able to land a measurable fish for a 1 pound 11 ounce catch. Thank you to all the juniors who stuck it out and fished hard on a very difficult day on the water. We would like to thank all participants and wish all those that are going on to national the best of luck as you represent the New York BASS Nation Youth Program at nationals. #livingstonlures #connectscale #bassmaster #bassmasterhighschool #shimanonorthamerica #hofmannsausage #sodusbay #sunyesfbassmasters #ubbassfishing
