Took a walk around PS 32 in Great Kills this morning with Mrs Spataro & Mrs Mancuso. I am committed to funding $300,000 towards renovating their Soviet looking ...kindergarten playground in this year’s budget, and to renovating the parks department square at the corner of Leverett and Elverton Avenue before I leave office. A few years ago, BP Oddo and I were able to secure $1.2m to renovate their main school yard with turf and new play equipment, and this would complete the outdoor work needed. Let’s get it done.

Its great we get big chunks of capital funding to build parks, cut ribbons, take photo ops, etc. I wont deny we do that... the hard part is getting additional staff to operate and maintain them. These are dedicated jobs for Staten Island. Good small win.
