In the time since, 36 city council candidates have signed our pledge across 23 districts (out of 51). Jaslin Kaur (D23) is a DSA for the City council candidate that has pledged to fight for care, not cops, for her district. To reject campaign contributions from the PBA and other related unions. And if elected, to vote NO on any budget that does not #DefundNYPD by $3B during her term. I want a future that thrives and doesn’t target people like my family, working-class, immigrant people, who generate millions of dollars in revenue for our city but never see a return for it. A... commitment to defunding the NYPD is a commitment to the collective future of our entire city and a world where every single person can live a dignified life. Join Team Jaslin at a canvass or phonebank this week: https://jaslinkaur.nyc/volunteer/ Learn more about the pledge to defund the NYPD and refund our communities at: www.nycpublicsafetypledge.com #carenotcops #publicsafetypledge #defundnypd
