New York City Triathlon 07.01.2021

Knee injuries such as a torn anterior cruciate ligament, or ACL, are common among athletes. Your knee supports up to seven times your body’s weight, so it’s highly vulnerable to injurywhether it’s from jogging in a 5K, training for a triathlon, or taking a direct hit playing contact sports, like basketball or football. No matter what your sport is, an ACL injury can be preventable. Join Cordelia W. Carter, MD, and Heather A. Milton, MS, RCEP, CSCS, Sports Health experts at ...NYU Langone Health, as they discuss with athletes and active individuals at all levels the role of the ACL and how such injuries occur. They will discuss risk factors for ACL injury such as age, training status, or genderincluding why women tend to have higher ACL tear and re-tear rates than menand demonstrate practical exercises you can do at home to prevent ACL injury so you can return to training sooner. With Life Time’s athletic events canceled around the country due to COVID-19, athletes came together to donate their registration fees to the Life Time Foundation. 100% of the contributions are helping school food programs continue to safely deliver food to children in need among ever-growing pandemic-related challenges.
