This is the most proud I’ve been to be a NY KNICKS fan in 20 years and the below comment from Coach Van Gundy says it all what this team has accomplished and become. And look, they’ve got tough veteran guys around a young guy like RJ Barrett. They’re putting guys out there who’ve been in the league and know what it takes. And they’ve got a couple of guys that have been with Tom, with Taj Gibson and Derrick Rose, so you know they’ve got people who know what’s going on and it’s a tough competitive group. It’s a throwback to the 90s Knicks, you know, low-scoring games, a lot of them for them. But a physical, tough, very good defense.

Thibodeau has the team playing full max effort and playing intelligent and sharing the ball. Team ball. This is the best the defense has played since Thibodeau was an assistant w Jeff Van Gundy. This is only the 4th time the team has had a winning record this late in the season this century. To each their own, but to write an article about how the team should trade 4 first round picks and then some for a ball dominant guard who can’t or won’t play defense doesn’t make sense and will definitely upset any knowledgeable fans. Trust me if this trade was announced today the fan base would go nuts and not in a good way. Stay the course and develop the team the right way. Develop a culture and real chemistry. When and if the possibility of trading for a star arises you will only get one shot at it and it needs to be the perfect fit, one that won’t set the team backwards.
