Thank you to the weekend volunteers from Rochester Lodge and Liberty Lodge! The Camper Village is looking better with the limbs and trees cut up. There is now stump seating around the fire ring and pathways are being defined. Our new picnic tables began to get coats of stain and sealer! Thank you Joe and Jason Argento and Joe Maxwell for your time and commitment to Camp Bristol! Volunteers are always welcome. If you want to lend a hand give Brett a call at the camp number 315.625.8145. If you’re coming from a distance or want to stay the night we have a bed for you.

Walking through the woods at Camp enjoying the evening sights and sounds I happened across this beauty. Can you name this plant? As I stand here sharing this post I am joined by a Pileated Woodpecker in search of something in the treetop behind me. My hike continues. Have a peaceful evening.

The NY Elks Camp Bristol Buy-A-Brick Program is coming together in stages. The cornerstones have been placed, and the Ivy has been planted.

Camping rates for the 2021 season will be available in a couple of weeks. The Board met last night and our goal is to open Memorial Day weekend. We have RV sites with electric and water as well as a dump station for use at the end of your stay. Dry camping for pop ups and tents as well as cabins and A-frames will be available. We will update you when the rate chart comes out as to the capacity of various spaces. Some larger group options will be available. The camp will be available for Elk members only or guests a member brings with them.

Camp Bristol wishes everyone Happy Holidays and a safe and peaceful New Year. We would like to thank everyone for the support and time spent in 2020. Much has been accomplished through out the year. So many Elks and friends have contributed and we are thankful. Looking forward to 2021 and the bright future of Camp Bristol.

Camp Bristols newest addition. The East Central District donation will hang in Spruce Lodge above the fireplace. Camp Bristol District chair Joe Maxwell delivered the Elk December 12th. Your generosity will be on display for years and we at the Camp thank you.

Just got my copy of the Empire State Elk. I want to give a great big THANK YOU to editor Tim Welpe. Three pages dedicated to Camp Bristol. Tim spent a lot of time and effort working with Rick Wunder and I in compiling the information and photos. Please share this with your districts, lodges and members. For many members who don’t view Facebook or visit the website the paper has photos of the buildings and progress at Camp Bristol. Thank you Tim and all who support Camp Bristol. Children, veterans and members will benefit from the time and effort given by so many volunteers.

Erin Bristol visited Camp Bristol on Saturday the 7th. Following up on a conversation and offer she had made the day of our golf tournament. A friend of Erins had closed up her business because of Covid issues. Erin was able too facilitate a great donation of some very good kitchen items. Erin is granddaughter of PGER Doc Bristol daughter of PSP Kevin. Her father Kevin was instrumental in the formation of a Elk Camp before passing away. Camp Bristol will be formally dedicated in Kevin’s memory next year. Erin will now be a volunteer working with the board on different projects. A family tradition of giving and service being carried on. Thank You to all the volunteers, donors and supporters of Camp Bristol.
