How can LMHCs help and get involved in the planning and changes to come?

Thousands of Licensed Mental Health Counselors (LMHC) are still not integrated into all behavioral health care in NYS. These are because of outdated and restrictive laws and regulations on the state and federal level. We have a behavioral health workforce shortage, which we make even worse with these outdated laws and regulations. We need action from our federal, state and local officials so they can properly deploy mental health professionals where needed.
