Community Health worker programs increase access to healthcare as the workers often live directly within the communities they serve. As such, community health workers know the resources available in that community, as well as the challenges to access. Sharing ethnicity, language, and location of rurality with the populations they serve allows for deeper connections between community health workers and their communities, and provides more accessible information and care. Attend our webinar on Thursday, June 20th to learn more about the importance of community health work in cape cod, and learn about Outer Cape Health Services’ Community Navigator Program’s need assessment. For rural populations, many of these elements are less favorable than within urban areas. Building on work conducted by the Rural and Minority Health Research Center, this presentation will review some of the key elements associated with health across rural White and minority populations, such as education, income, and health facility availability. The webinar is free, no registration is required, but participation is limited to the first 500 to log-on that day. If the webinar reaches capacity, you will be able to access the recording, archived on the Gateway website.
